Ancient manners
We can learn about ancient customs and manners in books 1-3. It talks about what in ancient Greek visitors.
In ancient Greek, people greet their visitors by giving them food first and then asking them questions. “Greeting stranger! Welcome to our feast. There will be time to tell you errand later” (1 line 151). They ask the strangers to eat first and then they talk about there errands.
In book 1-3 people sacrifice their animals for the goods. “They killed and tested on the cattle of lord helices” (line 11 book 1) They had to sacrifice for lord Helios. During the ancient times people are scared of gods because the gods can decide their death or life so they sacrifice things for there gods like animals.
Finally I think that in this book we can learn a lot about the ancient Greek culture by reading it.
